BOARD MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

When did you get involved in EcoWomen? Why?

I was asked to apply to be on the Board in 2014. I was the Director of the Behavior and Human Dimensions Program at the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy. I have long been involved in the Venn Diagram of sustainability and women’s issues.


How were you involved in EcoWomen?

I joined the Board in 2015 and was Vice President from 2016-2018.


What sparked your interest in the environment/conservation?

Subscription to Ranger Rick as a child.


What’s something exciting that you’re working on?

Promoting low cost/no cost heat resilience in disadvantaged communities.


Where does the environmental movement have room for improvement?

Still needs to work towards diversity and inclusion, of all types! This is by no means restricted to environmental causes. People need to work against the grain, bust out of comfortable grooves, to inspire and recruit people of all backgrounds and perspectives.
