Board Member Spotlight: Marina Kalika

When did you get involved in EcoWomen? Why? 

I got involved with EcoWomen in the spring of 2024. I strongly believe in women's equal rights and am looking forward to helping other women with their careers and personal life issues. The environment is also very important to me, marrying these two together seems like a perfect way to give back. 

What sparked your interest in the environment/ environmental movement? 

The combination of environmental and women issues is a great cause and I am hoping to support it in this role.

What’s something exciting that you’re working on (directly related to your career or otherwise)? 

I am working on better understanding the new Generative AI technology as well as making sure we keep it responsible. 

What keeps you motivated? 

Seeing successful outcomes in the projects I am involved in keeps me motivated. Personally I have two granddaughters who are growing up as we speak, and I hope I can make a difference for this new generation. 

Where does the environmental movement have room for improvement?

I believe there are many misconceptions and half-truths about the environment, so educating new generations is something I want to embark on.
